A DOG IS YOUR FRIEND FOR LIFE

We adopted a beagle from the pound 2 yrs ago when he was 6mo. old. Someone either got rid of him or he ran away. Granted, he is a pain in the butt on many days, but other days he is like my best friend who seems to understand my every emotion. He gives his love unconditionally and is always there to greet my husband when he comes home from work. He is like a child in many ways. He wants to please us and licks all the time. He gets carried away many times with the licking thing but once he gets yelled at he usually stops. He looks forward to walks, playing fetch in the yard and being petted. Since I have not been working, I am home with Bandit most of the time. We have grown closer together and I really love him. Thats why I went to see MARLEY and ME. I had read the book last year and could not imagine such a bad dog. He was untrainable and destroyed so much. The movie was good if you like dogs. One thing you must know is nothing lives forever and of course Marley has to leave for doggy heaven. The death scene was very sad. The way his owner talks to him while hes being put under was touching and very close to heart. My husband and I had to have 2 previous dogs put down years ago and it is by far, a hard thing to do. I couldn't stay but my husband did. I believed he talked to them the same way. It was hard, yes, very hard to put a pet down but it seems to help when you are there with them and they hear your voice. This past Sunday we had to put Tiger, our 15 yr old cat down because he had gotten really sick. Having pets is really good and rewarding, but when you have to let them go it is very difficult. This is life, and we must understand that we live and we die.

NEW STADIUMS, BIG CASH FOR SPORTS PLAYERS and 9,420 homeless people in NY

It is winter, it is cold, the man lying down in the storefront area has shoes with holes in the soles, his body is frail and worn, his beard is grey and dirty and he is about 35 yrs old. A woman, bundled up in a blanket, sores on her face and holding a can for donations is sitting in front of some church steps. This is only 2 of 9-10,000 people who are homeless, hungry and cold. It is very sad to see these people live like this, but yet new stadiums are being built in NY and a new Giant Stadium in NJ. Are these stadiums really necessary? A baseball player recently will be getting a phenomonal amount of money. How can this be??? How can thousands in NY be homeless and the above things take place?? Patterson wants to tax alot of things which I think is really wrong= especially when it comes to my itunes. Tax the rich more. Let the big CEO's take a pay cut. Hopefully our new President Elect OBAMA will do something for the people, for us, the low and middle people of America. Yes, a change must come.

Christmas is Over

The holidays came and went very quickly. Time just flies by when you have fun. Yesterday Paul and I went to the movies. We saw Doubt, with Meryl Streep. Oh my goodness, how can movies like this be made!!! Very slow boring movie, no details. Utter nonsense, and a waste of money! I could have done a better job! This one better not get nominated for anything!!! When is someone going to make a good movie?? I mean a really good one. My husband was quite disappointed too, and suggested we should have seen Tom Cruise instead in Valkyrie, at least there is action in that one. I had read the book Marley and Me because of my love for dogs, but I particularly do not like Jennifer Aniston and read the reviews which were not that great. I will be looking for Gran Torino with my idol Clint Eastwood. Oh well, I have to finish putting the decorations away till next year

YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT'S COMING TO YOU!!

It is Christmas Day and my husband and I were together and opened up our gifts after breakfast. We both enjoyed each other and the gifts we had gotten. In the afternoon we deceided to go to a Movie! Oh My!! A movie on Christmas Day! In our years of life, neither of us ever went to a movie on Christmas Day. Needless to say many many people had the same idea! The movie was quite crowded!! We had seen the CuriousCase of Benjamin Buttons. It was not too good, but not to bad!! It was a little slow and very long. Actually it was 2hrs and 48 min long. I would describe the movie as a fairytale, a film of imagination which dealt with love, life, death and the use of a phase, You never know whats comingt for you!! Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett played good parts, but I personally do not feel the film or the actors deserve Oscars. I will have to see a couple of the other movies before I make my guess on who should win and oscar. Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday!

Christmas Eve

Spent Christmas Eve with brother in law Rudy, my husband Paul and our little pets. I made a ham which came out really well! Paul worked today but came home around 5. We had dinner, some delicious desserts and exchanged some presents. Jay and Barbara called. It was good hearing from them. We had a quiet Christmas Eve. I had some pain in my back and legs but it was tolerable. The day went by very quickly! Tomorrow is Christmas and Paul is off. We will be home together and open our gifts in the morning. I have a great deal to be thankful for. I hope and pray this new year 2009 will be good to me in regards to my health. I pray for peace and love for everyone.

The Death of a Neighbor

Here it is almost Christmas! Shopping is done but gifts are not yet wrapped. Holidays are sad, especially when one gets older and family gets smaller. Yesterday I looked out my window and saw a fire engine, and an ambulance. I didnt go out to check but figured someone had gotten sick. Later on, the medical examiner car was there with a police car! This had to be more than what I thought. Yes, it was more. One of my neighbors had passed away, some say she died in her sleep in her bed! I have known the neighbor for many years and she was not that up in age. I cried and felt very sad that she passed away, but was relieved to know that she had passed on in her sleep. What a peaceful way to join your heavenly father. I said a prayer for her this morning and pray that God would take me home the same way when the time comes.

I Love Movies

I am quite a movie buff and would love to write articles for the newspapers one day. My husband and I see a hell of a lot of movies! Recent ones seen include SEVEN POUNDS, THE YES MAN, AND TRANSPORTER 3, I really enjoyed all three, but Seven Pounds really stole my heart! Will Smith was great! Good acting by the entire cast and I give the director a lot of applause for the ending- which I will not say. How someone could think of that is really something!!! I needed more than 2 tissues, however. I am a real softee as it is but the way the movie concluded was worth every tear!!! It was a good movie with good stars . Yes Man was your typical silly movie! If I said nothing but Yes all the time I would be in trouble! It was ok for laughs, that was it. Transporter 3 was a good ole action flick, and I love action flicks too! Jason Stathom is a good actor. I love looking at him too! He has a way about him. Maybe he would make a good James Bond one day! The movie was good and my other actor friend was in it too! He plays T Bag on Prison Break on TV. I believe his name is John Kneuple or something like that. Gee, from TV he has really made the big screen a number of times. I guess I did something wrong somewhere. I wasnt discovered!
