A DOG IS YOUR FRIEND FOR LIFE

We adopted a beagle from the pound 2 yrs ago when he was 6mo. old. Someone either got rid of him or he ran away. Granted, he is a pain in the butt on many days, but other days he is like my best friend who seems to understand my every emotion. He gives his love unconditionally and is always there to greet my husband when he comes home from work. He is like a child in many ways. He wants to please us and licks all the time. He gets carried away many times with the licking thing but once he gets yelled at he usually stops. He looks forward to walks, playing fetch in the yard and being petted. Since I have not been working, I am home with Bandit most of the time. We have grown closer together and I really love him. Thats why I went to see MARLEY and ME. I had read the book last year and could not imagine such a bad dog. He was untrainable and destroyed so much. The movie was good if you like dogs. One thing you must know is nothing lives forever and of course Marley has to leave for doggy heaven. The death scene was very sad. The way his owner talks to him while hes being put under was touching and very close to heart. My husband and I had to have 2 previous dogs put down years ago and it is by far, a hard thing to do. I couldn't stay but my husband did. I believed he talked to them the same way. It was hard, yes, very hard to put a pet down but it seems to help when you are there with them and they hear your voice. This past Sunday we had to put Tiger, our 15 yr old cat down because he had gotten really sick. Having pets is really good and rewarding, but when you have to let them go it is very difficult. This is life, and we must understand that we live and we die.
